John Sterling Tribute Shirt – Yankees Broadcaster Tee
$24.00
This John Sterling tribute shirt honors the voice that called Yankees baseball for 36 years, built around his signature “It is high, it is far, it is gone” home run call. A vintage-style design for fans who grew up with his voice in the background of every game.
This John Sterling tribute shirt honors one of the most recognizable voices in baseball history: the New York Yankees radio broadcaster whose home run call defined three and a half decades of Bronx Bombers baseball.
About the Design
John Sterling called Yankees games on the radio from 1989 to 2024, becoming known for his signature home run call, “It is high, it is far, it is gone,” and his end-of-game sign-off, “Ballgame over.” He passed away in May 2026 at age 87. This vintage-style design is a fan tribute to that voice and that era, not an officially licensed Yankees or MLB product.
What the Artwork Shows
Retro, worn-in typography reading “The Call” anchors the front print, styled to look like a decades-old broadcast memento rather than a brand-new graphic — built for fans who want something understated rather than a loud logo tee.
When to Wear It
Yankee Stadium game days, watching from home, or any time you want to tip your cap to the voice that called the game for a generation of fans.
